welp i'm slowly approaching 4 months since my latest audio upload, so lemme tell whomever it may concern what's going on
i completely burned myself out on making the kind of music that I was usually uploading. i've had plenty of free time as of late, my head just hasn't been in the right place for creative activity. so I figured while i'm getting over the burnout i might aswell invest more time into learning the guitar, and i've become somewhat proficient at it (can teach myself a lot of different tunes, can't manage solos yet though. still a little complicated), and who knows, i may be gearing up to actually using the skills i've acquired to make and put out some tracks with a more rock (?) oriented tinge to them. recording guitars and setting up live drum patterns is still a new thing for me though, so you're still going to have to bear with me for a bit.
the nice thing is, i think i'm starting to get out of the creative rut i put myself in. i've got all my shit set up and i'm able to record and come up with music again!! thank god
school's started again since yesterday and i'm in the final stretch for it (6 months + final exams left) and then I should be done. it's taking up a significant chunk of my free time, but i think i'll manage to squeeze in some time in FL studio every day if i'm in the right mood.
so overall, i'm back, and i'll let papa john handle my closing statement:

i'd normally use the ROFL post mood for this post but newgrounds kinda ruined it with the new emotes. it looks like a cry laugh emoji now more than a :D face which is what it used to look like. oh well.
you may remember me talking about my cool new instruments that i had bought in a previous post.
about a week ago now, i managed to win an auction for a used black epiphone les paul standard guitar. here it is in it's full glory:
i tried getting a better picture, but i just couldn't figure it out. so this will have to do.
this one is actually a little bit lighter than my shitty chinese strat, which i didn't expect, but the cheapo stand that i have for it is still crumbling under the weight of the les paul.
and if you're wondering, i'm seling the old strat. it had some weird shit going on with the 1st and 2nd frets and the low E string that I just didn't feel like dealing with.
i'll get a proper, new strat eventually, but for now, this will have to do.

If you've ever seen me roaming around the NG Supporter Chat, you'll know that I'm quick to bring up music as a topic of conversation. And there's a very good reason for it: I love that stuff!
Since I post music on here from time to time (I guess that makes me a musician? I don't really know), I'd like to share a little taste of what I like listening to, just to show off a bit. I'll update the list if I find anything else that's caught my interest.
Bear in mind, these songs are going to vary tonally and instrumentally,, but I think you're bound to find atleast one thing that appeals to you. Enjoy!

so i'm still on my journey to become a halfway decent guitar player, and while i'm always working on my strumming and shifting, and i know the basic chords by heart by now, there's still one thing that's been bugging me that i'd like to call to attention: the FUCKING f chord.
Since I'm assuming that the majority of people who read this aren't guitar players: let me show you what it looks like:
looks easy enough, right? well, maybe if you have abnormally long fingers, it might be, but for me and my malnourished little cheeto fingies, this is one hell of a fucking claw that i have to make to have the chord ring out okay.
the main thing is that it's a barre chord, i.e you have to push down on one ENTIRE fret with your index finger, while simultaneous fretting with your other fingers.
since you have to barre the first fret, you have to put a shit ton of pressure on with your index finger to have the chord ring out without too much buzzing. this chord is, quite literally, intricately designed to fuck up guitar players.
And on top of all of that, you have to actually learn to shift from something like, a D or G chord, to an F chord, in under a second, without fucking up.
Now, normally I skip barre chords, since the songs that I usually listen to don't really use them, but the F chord is unavoidable, due to how common it is. This thing will ruin your fucking life forever, if you ever dare encounter it.
I've said this in the NG chat before and I'll say it again here: If I ever become pope, or controller of the world, or whatever, I will ban the F chord from all music. That shit will become the new tritone, it's just banned. Anyone who dares use it will suffer harsh consequences. Fuck this thing

earlier today, during a math exam which i totally flunked out on, i had a lot of time to reflect on my music, and how it'll evolve.
while im glad people enjoy the songs i've put out so far, and i also quite enjoyed making them personally, i don't plan on making simple drum & bass loops forever. my taste in music is more rock centered, which is something i want to reciprocate through my own rock flavored songs at some point or another. my first depressed white boy ballad is practically already written; i just need to figure out how to do it justice..... and i have to try and sing it, which i dread, as i don't particularly enjoy hearing my own voice, let alone record it, and work with the voice track on an FL studio timeline.
in december, i bought my first electric guitar (a vision strat) with a basic amp and a bunch of other guitar related goodies for €100, and while it may be considered a shitty, cheap starter guitar to a professional; i love it personally. i play it consistently, unlike the old acoustic that i got from a flea market years ago, and the yamaha electric keyboard that i got for my birthday, which i've been neglecting big time lately.
as for the guitar, i've steadily been teaching myself to play it over the past half a year. i got the basic chord shapes down, and my fingertips on my left hand hurt like hell from all the fretting. i think if i spent another 6-12 months on it, i could play quite efficiently, and maybe even get around to recording some guitar tracks to use in my music. stay tuned for that!
pictured here: my strat. the holder can barely handle the weight of the guitar, despite the fact that it's allegedly designed to hold electric guitars. go figure
pictured here: my yamaha keyboard. notice the dust on some of the keys: a symptom of the months of neglect on my part.
if i figure out how, i'll use this thing on a song of mine some day or another, and i'll let you know when!

so idk if y'all heard about this, but john lennon recently announced on facebook that he faked his death in 1980 and he's been living in wyoming this whole time. a modern photo of his face came out today, and man, he looks like he's already decomposing.
who would have thought we were being fooled this whole time!!
shoutouts to @JohnLennon
