music talk 🎸

Posted by JizzyJazz - May 28th, 2021

earlier today, during a math exam which i totally flunked out on, i had a lot of time to reflect on my music, and how it'll evolve.

while im glad people enjoy the songs i've put out so far, and i also quite enjoyed making them personally, i don't plan on making simple drum & bass loops forever. my taste in music is more rock centered, which is something i want to reciprocate through my own rock flavored songs at some point or another. my first depressed white boy ballad is practically already written; i just need to figure out how to do it justice..... and i have to try and sing it, which i dread, as i don't particularly enjoy hearing my own voice, let alone record it, and work with the voice track on an FL studio timeline.

in december, i bought my first electric guitar (a vision strat) with a basic amp and a bunch of other guitar related goodies for €100, and while it may be considered a shitty, cheap starter guitar to a professional; i love it personally. i play it consistently, unlike the old acoustic that i got from a flea market years ago, and the yamaha electric keyboard that i got for my birthday, which i've been neglecting big time lately.

as for the guitar, i've steadily been teaching myself to play it over the past half a year. i got the basic chord shapes down, and my fingertips on my left hand hurt like hell from all the fretting. i think if i spent another 6-12 months on it, i could play quite efficiently, and maybe even get around to recording some guitar tracks to use in my music. stay tuned for that!

pictured here: my strat. the holder can barely handle the weight of the guitar, despite the fact that it's allegedly designed to hold electric guitars. go figure

pictured here: my yamaha keyboard. notice the dust on some of the keys: a symptom of the months of neglect on my part.

if i figure out how, i'll use this thing on a song of mine some day or another, and i'll let you know when!
